New York Jets (20/21 -4pts in Handicap Betting) hope to have star cornerback Darrelle Revis back for Monday night’s home clash with Minnesota Vikings (20/23 +4pts) – and a bitter personal matchup with ex-New England Patriots receiver Randy Moss.
Moss was traded from the three-time former Super Bowl champions to Minnesota this week, just days before the Vikings visit the rebuilt Meadowlands Stadium for the clash with the AFC East-leading Jets.
Moss scored a touchdown in New England’s 28-14 loss at New York in Week Two – beating Revis for speed in a deep post route which had no safety cover.
The Jets cornerback pulled up with a hamstring strain on the play and has been inactive since, missing his team’s subsequent wins over Miami and Buffalo which have seen them restored among the favourites to win Superbowl.
However, Revis returned to practice this week and is expected to suit up for Monday’s game – for which he has already stoked up the rematch with Moss, who he originally called a ‘slouch’.
Revis said: “The second half I watched [from] the locker room and you could tell he was, like, putting his foot on the brake.
“Everybody knows that’s Randy. Sometimes he comes out and plays 100 percent and sometimes he doesn’t.”
Moss was traded after he was ineffective in last week’s win over Miami – receiving no catches and making no impact on the game.
